There is no single secret to success. We all know that.
But there are inflection points.
One thing that always confuses me about business (especially in the online world) is that some people seem to have exploded in the scene.
To accept So Lopez, For example. He’s a good example of someone you just like, “WTF … where are you from ?!”
On my other side? I was just writing in my dark room, getting exactly zero readers every single day year after year.
Then, My piece got a few tractions.
It wasn’t because of any specific plan, to be honest. It is the result of repeatedly swinging an ax on the same tree.
But here’s a catch!
The moment you know that you have reached the age of entrepreneurial puberty.
Assuming you’re doing the right things (working on the projects you care about, being careful about getting the word out, constantly improving the quality of your work): You’ll eventually hit an “inflection point”.
It’s a lot like adolescence – spontaneous, inevitable, usually uneven growth that can change everything, literally overnight.
- Inflation points can come from an article, video or podcast that is viral.
- It can come from an influential person who finds your idea / product / service and informs their audience.
- This may be due to your discovery which introduces something completely new to the world.
- It is often an accident.
- This is often the result of something you didn’t think was a big deal at the time.
But your inflection point will occur with sufficient time in the game. You will break through. It’s just a rule of the universe. Everyone gets this opportunity.
When that happens, be prepared and recognize the opportunity
Inflation points are your chance to control your trajectory and make sure your message gets there.
If you’re not ready to put the whole world’s attention on you, when you get it for 15 minutes, you’re wasting it! Don’t risk losing speed. Relentlessly push on it.
There are two amazing things about inflection points:
# 1: If you capitalize on them, your business (and your life) will never be the same.
There is no “un-doing” growth that is being featured on major online platforms Time, Fate, Entrepreneur, Huffington Post, Thought catalogAnd Inc. Gave me or Rich 20 something (The other hand of Under30CEO. Now, my job is to build on it. But we will never be “unknown” again.
# 2: Inflation points can lead to quantum leaps to your goals – in many cases, this is where you can truly achieve “overnight success.” The key issue for us is Instagram, which has grown from 5,000 to 100,000 subscribers in 8 months as the main driver of Rich20. Completely unplanned, but completely changed the game.
You don’t know that continuity is the key. But what you might think is that consistency with your ideas will only lead to slow, linear growth.
The reason I promote such hard continuity is that if you practice it long enough you will not only experience a standard linear increase – but if you have long enough you will also experience an indicative, crazy “overnight” increase in the inflection points.
Here’s something to think about: Reaching true success requires both your luck (inflection point) and hard work (consistency).
You have to have both – no matter what order they come from.
If you are lucky at the beginning of the game and fly, you have to work very hard to maintain that speed. Otherwise you will see a quick spike and nothing more. And even if you are the hardest worker in the world, you need to be smart enough to recognize the inflection points when you arrive … otherwise all hard work will be in vain.
After all, I want you to know something, my friends – it’s possible.
Success is not just for a select few. It’s for everyone.
If you are reading this … Success is for you.
