Do you believe in time travel?
I do ..
Although I can’t figure it out – I can say for sure that time can be distorted. With practice you can slow down and speed up time.
It is possible, because Time is a product of your perception.
If you keep your head down and focus only on your work for the next year without any other distractions, I guarantee that this is going to be the fastest or shortest year of your life depending on how you are focusing.
Your brain responds to fancy stimuli and makes you realize that time is actually moving slower than that. This is why when you go on a long day trip to a new place it feels like you were on the road for a long time when in reality it was only one day. This was also evident in my first year of running an online business.
There was so much to learn and so much new stimulus that it really felt like the longest year of my life.
The reflection of the past year has made me think about how valuable it is to use time as an entrepreneur and for our maximum benefit.
There are lots of productivity hacks out there that are supposed to help you do more in less time, but I’m going to argue that this is probably not the best way to get from point A to point B.
Yes, I agree that it is important to be as efficient as possible, but I also believe that you should have some fluidity in your daily schedule.
In my opinion the best way to do this is to divide your time in a way that strategically keeps you fresh and ready to perform at the highest level.
Ideally you will feel the reduction of time when you are doing some kind of creative work. It is also referred to as entering your area or entering a stream.
When you are crushed by some administrator or less brain intensive activity you want to feel that the time is passing very fast when you are going through those things.
Strategically structuring your day so that you batch the activities of slow-moving and fast-moving time separately will help you maintain the fluidity of your schedule and allow you to do more in less time.
The reason I say this is because the only thing that really matters is your perception of time.
The time machine exists in your own mind.
You can build a 100 100 million business in 10 years if you just focus on the business and neglect all the other parts of your life, but at the end of those 10 years you can hate the process so much that time seemed to take you away. 30 years to build that business.
If you do not enjoy it, is it worth it?
It depends on your personal preference.
I believe the only reason to start a business is that you can experience a lot of happiness, so if your entrepreneurial journey significantly interferes with your happiness, I would consider taking a step back.
Start hacking love from the time you have now by reducing the time in the areas you enjoy the most.
The first year with my internet business was the most fulfilling and enjoyable experience of my life. It felt like eternity, because I reduced it. I have traveled, I have fallen in love, I have learned a ton, I have experimented and above all I have a thought in front of my mind.
Everything is happening in my interest.
If I can tell you a little secret, I’ll share it with you Everything is happening for your benefit too.
So – what is the best way to distort time so that you can enjoy the journey?
Use it to your advantage. Learn slowly and cherish your opportunity to discover every day. Accelerate and crash the repetitive tasks that you need to complete.
Your perception is shaping how you feel about time and everything else in life.
Realize this wisely.
